A Final Flavor of Morocco: Why Fes Surprised Me

Fes was the final stop of the journey, selected mainly for its convenient airport. The city’s expansive medina, Fes el Bali, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and stood out as the most beautiful one the author encountered in Morocco. As the cultural and spiritual heart of the country, it offers a unique and vibrant atmosphere. A major culinary highlight during the visit was the tagine, with the meatball and goat cheese variety being a personal favorite. Ultimately, Fes provided a beautiful and fitting conclusion to the Moroccan adventure.
