Besides the two Gorilla-Safaris (see this post), I made a lot of other safaris in Uganda:
- one chimpanzee tracking
- one rhino walking safari
- one giraffe walking safari
- two boat safaris
- three game drives in various national parks
As the animals are allowed to live however they want in HUGE parks, it sometimes takes hours to find them animals.

The almost 2500km on the road we spent completely with a Toyota Landcruiser:

And everyone is looking for memorable shoots: a hippo with an open mouth or the big five in total (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, African buffalo). We saw the big five, but unfortunately no good picture of the leopard….

Sometimes the scenes are so impressive that even the best pictures cannot transport this. Like the following two!

The number of giraffes was just stunning, and left, and right from the picture, it continued like this! And actually, it looks like a bustling harbor with cranes for de-loading the ships.

Or this scene at the river, a group of elephants passing by hippos and buffalos walking into a group of German seagulls resting here during winter… Just stunning!
Looking for the lions took us a while. We had luck at Elisabeth Park, the famous lions sitting in trees (obviously its cooler there).

And after each safari, we returned to a different lodge, resting and eating.

Last but not least, something special which happened for me the first time. I was standing at the equator:
