What do the four elements of the headline have in common? All of that you will find in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, and as it is close enough, it is worth driving there for a weekend.
Politics
If you are in Brussels, you have to visit the European Parliament. The visit is free, so go in there and sniff one nose of big politics.
Comics
Brussel is also a center of comics. Everywhere in the city, you will find comic paintings or statues. Unfortunately, my favorite “GASTON” was away for “winter hybernation”, so there was no chance to take a picture with the famous statue of him. I recommend visiting the comic museum and spending some extra money in one of the local comic book stores.

Beer
Sure, Belgium is the country with the most fantastic beer. Even I, as a German, say that 🙂
So, I checked out some of the famous breweries.
And I went to a place called “Brussel Beer Project”. There you can taste Beers with some strange tastes like BBQ… Luckily, you can order a bunch of small glasses for tasting before ordering a liter… 3 of 8, actually, I would drink… and it’s not BBQ!
Food

Do you wonder why fries from these local small “just fries”-shops are missing? Yeah, that’s an issue! If you have Belgium Fries, they are too delicious to wait for a picture. You eat them right away!
