Yes, I had a shower (ok, let’s call it more storm) in the most enormous shower in the world: the Iguazu Falls. At peak, 7 Million liters per second of water are going down the 275 waterfalls. It was “only” 2.5 million liters per second during my time, but walking by this immense power feels hilarious. So why not take a boat ride into this? Yes, exactly, so I took two of them!

But let’s start from the beginning:

The Iguazu Falls are the falls of the river Iguazu. This river is the natural border between Brazil and Argentina. On both sides, you can do a tour of visit the falls. On the Brazilian side, you can see the falls across the river; on the Argentinian side, you walk above the falls to look down into the falls. As these are two different experiences, I recommend doing both. On both sides, they offer a boat ride into the falls… yes, I mean into! These two boat rides are the same. It is just a matter of which side you prefer; the prices are almost identical (think about the blue dollar on the Argentinian side).

Things you have to consider if you cross the border in Iguazu to see the other side:

  • Take a cab or any other public transport! The waiting line for private cars is over an hour on quiet days!
  • You can skip the entire customs program if you enter the other side JUST for Iguazu. If you plan to travel further, you have to get the stamp of Brazilian customs (either while entering or while leaving the country)

I recommend a guide for entering the parks as the guiding companies can skip the line, which is a gift, especially during high season if you do not have to wait at 40degress.

The animal in both parks

It is not the focus of this trip, but some animals also live there. (I also saw a Tucan, but it was hard to make a picture.)

By the way, the cities around the park on both sides are acceptable for going out for a nice dinner, but that’s it… Nothing more you should expect.
